OrthoNOW! of Syracuse

"OrthoNOW! of Syracuse" was the first after-hours walk-in clinic in Syracuse. The clinic is located in East Syracuse at the Upstate Bone & Joint Center. OrthoNOW! of Syracuse provides immediate care for sprains, minor fractures, dislocations, and sports injuries. You don’t need an appointment – you can simply walk right in and be seen during our hours of operation. OrthoNOW! of Syracuse is equipped with in-house digital X-ray imaging to help diagnose and treat injuries quickly.

MRI and CT services are conveniently located at the Upstate Bone & Joint Center but are not available during regular OrthoNOW! of Syracuse hours. These services typically require insurance authorization and can be coordinated as part of the follow-up care.

• Saturday: 9 am – 2:30 pm

The OrthoNOW! of Syracuse program treats non-emergency injuries like minor fractures, sprains, minor dislocations, and sports-related injuries. While these injuries may be serious, they do not require a trip to the emergency room. However, if you have a life-threatening injury, an open fracture, excessive bleeding, head trauma, or spine injuries, you should immediately proceed to your nearest emergency room.

OrthoNOW! of Syracuse is just like an urgent care center. While urgent care clinics treat many different illnesses and injuries, OrthoNOW! of Syracuse is specifically dedicated to providing healthcare for urgent orthopedic injuries. The program helps reduce the long wait times, high copays associated with emergency room visits, and time-consuming referrals to orthopedic specialists.

A copayment or copay is a fixed amount for a covered service, paid by a patient to the provider of service before receiving the service. OrthoNOW! of Syracuse charges the same copay as a doctor’s office, which is generally less expensive than an emergency room copay. If your plan requires a copay, it will be collected at the time of your visit.

By coming directly to OrthoNOW! of Syracuse, you have immediate access to orthopedic specialists, especially if you need follow-up care. Our staff will assist in coordinating an appointment later with the appropriate healthcare provider at the time of discharge.

This program offers a continuum of care starting with your ‘OrthoNOW! of Syracuse’ visit in the after-hours with follow-up care provided in our office. Of course, you always have the option of being seen by an alternate provider of your choice.

The providers at OrthoNOW! of Syracuse will complete clinic notes documenting the care and treatment you received at your visit to OrthoNOW! of Syracuse. This information will be forwarded to your family doctor or primary care physician after it is finalized at your request.
