Upstate Orthopedics is excited to announce the addition of Kevin Albanese, MD, to our team of fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons providing patient-centered care and contributing to research and academics at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Albanese specializes in hand, wrist, and upper extremity disorders, treating finger dislocations to broken collarbones, and everything in between. Dr. Albanese has an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and graduated cum laude from SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he also completed his orthopedic residency. Dr. Albanese completed the University of Buffalo Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship, and he has a number of peer-reviewed publications and professional research presentations on different surgical techniques.
Dr. Albanese brings with him clinical expertise in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of a multitude of hand and upper extremity conditions, including but not limited to: finger, hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder fractures and dislocations, upper extremity tendon injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, thumb sprains and peripheral neuropathies. He has specialized in hand and upper extremity surgical techniques.
Dr. Albanese will see patients at the Upstate Bone & Joint Center in East Syracuse, Central New York’s most comprehensive center for orthopedic medicine, and he will serve as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Dr. Albanese, reflecting on his return to Upstate, shares: “As a Syracuse native I am excited to be back home and to have the opportunity to serve the community that has given me so much over the years. Having done my training at Upstate I know first-hand that Upstate provides the highest quality of orthopedic care. I’m excited and honored to be able to join this group of great people and continue the tradition of providing great care for the people of Central New York.”
