Dr. Allyson Zakrzewski is the latest addition to the orthopedic specialists at Upstate Orthopedics. Dr. Zakrzewski specializes in pediatric orthopedic surgery, becoming the 5th pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Upstate Orthopedics. A graduate of the University of Rochester, Dr. Zakrzewski earned her medical degree at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Science at the University at Buffalo. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency training at the University at Buffalo and Pediatric Orthopedic Fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center.
As a pediatric orthopedist, Dr. Zakrzewski provides specialized care for children with consideration of their condition and how it affects growing bones. She has special interests in pediatric fracture care, sports injuries, clubfoot, lower and upper extremity deformity, spinal deformity and scoliosis along with pediatric and adolescent foot and hip conditions. She has experience in caring for the musculoskeletal needs of children with cerebral palsy and spina bifida, as well as other neuromuscular and genetic disorders.
Dr. Zakrzewski is an Assistant Professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University. She holds hospital privileges at Upstate Community Hospital, Upstate University Hospital, Crouse Hospital, and Upstate Orthopedics Ambulatory Surgery Center. She will actively see patients at the Upstate Bone and Joint Center, Central New York’s most comprehensive center for orthopedic care. Dr. Zakrzewski has a professional affiliation membership in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.
