New Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon joins Upstate Orthopedics, October 19, 2020
Dr. Rajin Shahriar is the latest addition to the orthopedic specialists at Upstate Orthopedics. Dr. Shahriar specializes in pediatric orthopedics and will be joining the 3 other pediatric orthopedists already in the practice. A graduate of Stanford University, Dr. Shahriar earned his medical degree at Texas A&M Health Science Center. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency training at Beaumont Health System/Wayne State, and Pediatric Orthopedic Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis/Shriners Hospitals.
As a pediatric orthopedist, Dr. Shahriar provides specialized care for children with consideration of their condition and how it affects growing bones. He specializes in treatment of the full spectrum of pediatric musculoskeletal conditions including fractures and extremity abnormalities such as hip disorders, foot deformities and alignment issues. He also manages spine conditions and musculoskeletal issues associated with neurological disorders.
Dr. Shahriar is an Assistant Professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University with clinical research interests in pediatric trauma and patellofemoral instability. He holds hospital privileges at Upstate Community Hospital, Upstate University Hospital, Crouse Hospital, and Upstate Orthopedics Ambulatory Surgery Center. He will actively see patients at the Upstate Bone and Joint Center, Central New York’s most comprehensive center for orthopedic care. His professional affiliations include memberships in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America.
